we had a great time during our 2nd annual labor day weekend camping adventure with the russells. a perfect way to spend the last official weekend of summer!

forgot you volunteered to bring dessert?

did you forget you volunteered to make a dessert for a whole crew of kids and adults?  and you took a nap with your kids when you were suppose to be baking homemade chocolate chip cookies?  and that the gathering is in just a couple hours?  and you would feel like a chump showing up with packages of store bought cookies...since all of the other ladies are excellent bakers?  yup...that happened to me today!

recipe:
put a rolo on top of a pretzel.
melt them in the oven for 3-5 mins
take them out and smush an m&m on top

voila!  these little salty sweet treats are a delight.  i hope our friends like them as much as i do.

a girls' day

had the treat of a fun girls' day on saturday (yay)!  

brunch at the south end buttery with sweet friends kristen and kristine.  

the three of us started our careers back at putnam investments years ago.  

a delight to visit and catch-up on all the goings on in our lives now ... from fabulous vacations, to the news of a baby, to creative ideas, to stories & laughs from our families.      

later in the day after some shopping with ella - i was invited to visit her lipstick shop.  

for the bargain-price of "ten dollars" i got to get my lips (and teeth) 

exquisitely done up with about 6-8 shades of pink, purple and red lipstick. 

ella thought she'd also give her eyes a lipstick treatment as well...  isn't it lovely?!  

bennett and wes were spared - though she did try!

a & a visit

ashley and her sweet baby girl adalyn visited for the day.  ashley, one of my oldest and dearest friends - we did everything together our teen years, and now years later get to enjoy some good ol' "mommy-hood" talk.  addy is a happy little girl and of course quiet snuggly as well.  way to go ashley & joel - we are so happy for you guys!  

sweet girls...  wasn't it just yesterday that my little girl was meeting ashley?
