doesn't this snap of jane totally capture summer?
ice cream pop, water balloon, rainbow suit,
pool in the background, golden hour, smile.
(we are not gonna talk about how she's about to start kindergarten!)
here in new england
we know that summer isn't over, over...
but today is my kids' last day of summer vacation.
people say it goes too fast.
and, yes, that is very very true.
but when i think about all summer that was lived,
it just feels right...almost perfect.
it's leaving us in that place of longing for a lil' more,
while also longing for fall and all the living that it will bring.
so...
dearest summer,
thank you for filling us with memories & moments
that we will carry with us for the year and years to come.
guess i'll leave you with that one up there...
a lil' sad face and longing for the "shackles" of summer.
onward to a new season,
and let me tell you, this girl right here is ready.
