bam shots

we have another little soccer player in the house!

mr. b is lacing up the cleats, hitting the green and perfecting his "bam shots."

bam shots - his official name for scoring a goal.

 

yours truly was quite content to be cheering from the sidelines,

while sipping a pumpkin spiced latte 

and snuggled in my scarf on a chilly fall morning.

but...

 

when all the other moms are out there 

kicking it around the pitch with their future stars...

sometimes a mama does what a mama needs to do!  

dust off her skills from back in the day, 

complete with preggo belly and knee-high boots!.

to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary i put together this little gift for my hubby...

8 great years - 8 great dates!

i was thinking that with little one's arrival just around the corner, 

it's unlikely that mr. defoyd and i will be getting out very much in the coming months.  

so instead...we'll enjoy 8 great dates at home!

 

date #1 - you light me up like a jack-o-lantern

date #3 - are you feeling lucky...game night

date #4 - baby it's cold outside...let's get cozy with a cup of a cocoa

date #5 - who needs cooking classes...let's stir up some yummies in the kitchen

date #7 - tickets please...or $1 red box movie night in

date #8 - you are the final piece in my...puzzle

my little squirrels have been gathering acorns for weeks.

bags, lunch boxes and pockets have been
filled to the brim with these little fall treasures.

 a few weeks back, mom and i had the honor of
hosting a bridal shower for this sweet girl,

leigh, my future sister-in-law.

a wonderful afternoon celebrating with dear friends & family.
we are so looking forward to the wedding in just a few weeks.

a pirate treasure hunt for my little pirate...

it started with a mommy-drawn duplicate of our street, 

leading down to the river...

then we checked our map 

and started out for the hunt...

 we hiked and hiked until we found the "x"

 x marks the spot!

a bounty of neverland pirate snacks...

he couldn't have been more excited, amazed and 100% convinced it was a real hidden treasure (even if his mom just threw it under the rock 2 seconds before while he was distracted looking for worms). 

i love simple ideas like this, that rock the little's world.
